Weather Policy

Winter Weather Policy
On the day of riding or volunteering, please check the forecasted high for the day for Frederick, Maryland by clicking here. If the high for the day is 37 degrees or lower, the lesson will be cancelled by the instructor by 8:00AM.

Summer Weather Policy
If the temperature is 90-100 degrees, the participant/family and instructor will make cancellation decisions. If the temperature or heat index is 100 or above lessons will be cancelled by the instructor

School Closings: In general, if Montgomery County schools close due to weather related issues, CHTR will not hold lessons. However the instructor and participant/family may decide to ride if the weather conditions are “fair”.
